A Pool Table Cover is an Essential Piece of Kit
When you have a pool table you need to look after it and to stop the cloth from fading and to protect it from dust and debris, you need a pool table cover. In fact every billiards table whether snooker or pool should have a table covers on it when not being used. Now I know its not very exciting, but it is an essential part of looking after your table, so here goes anyway. The most practical types are the plastic covers either the plain silver or decorated type. They will protect your table from accidental spills of liquid as well. Also a good idea is to get the fitted type that have the elasticated corners so they make a snug fit around the table to stop the dog or cat from pulling it off.
There are calico versions as well which are basically cloth and look really nice on the table if drinks spillage is not a problem. I came across an interesting problem the other day when a customer complained that his plastic pool table cover melted in the sunshine as he had his table in a conservatory and it obviously got very hot in there. We supplied him with a calico cloth cover and that solved his problem. So if you have your table in a conservatory, get a cloth table cover.
When it comes to the outdoor tables, you need something a lot more substantial. They make these covers out of the same material that the lorries have on the trailers with those curtains that cover the sides of the pallet lorries. So they are very very tough. These will keep your outdoor table covers safe during those winter months when the table is not being used. The only downside is that they are very expensive, typically £80-£120 depending on the size. Whatever type you choose just make sure you get a pool table cover to keep the table pristine between games.
